I just checked the gambling lines on the Michigan game and was shocked to find the line on the Homecoming game opened with Penn State -23½ points. Is that not the greatest anti-Michigan spread ever known to man? It’ll be interesting to watch where the action drives it as the week progresses.
Just to put this in perspective, the spreads for Temple and Syracuse were around 28 points. Since I knew you would ask, Coastal Carolina was off the board. Who would have ever thought we’d be putting Michigan in the same paragraph with lowlife like those three. Gamblers also had greater expectations for Oregon State than for Michigan, as the Beavers’ spread was 16. (I just wanted to write “beaver spread” one more time.)

Seriously, has Michigan EVER been this big of a dog in a game. I can’t imagine it has ever happened in the era of modern gambling
My conjecture would be not since Bo Schembechler took over the program back in ’69. This feels totally weird.

is Dick Honig going to be anywhere in the stadium?
Fortunately, Honig “refereed” his last game about three years ago. OR HAS HE? Muahhahahahhahahhaa…

I feel sorry for Michigan.
I also have a bridge for sale.
Let’s hope PSU doesn’t get caught looking ahead. I hear “white out” conditions are not in the Columbus forecast next Saturday.
On the other hand, GH, there might be a lot of scarlet flowing on the field in Columbus. Nevertheless, I agree with you about one thing. PSU must not get caught by Michigan with its collective pants down. A good, decisive win over Little Blue for Homecoming will set up this college football season’s third or fourth “Game of the Century” next week in Columbus. The game itself will only be exceeded by its hype.
