Alamo Bowl Dumping Big Ten

The Valero Alamo Bowl has inked a deal with the Pac-10 to get that conference’s #2 team starting with the 2010 season and continuing for four years. The Big Ten, which has been been providing its fourth or fifth ranked team to the Alamo Bowl, will not be part of the new configuration. Negotiations between the Alamo Bowl and the Big 12 to bring in their runner-up have progressed well, and a deal is expected to be hammered out in a few weeks.
