Hey, Parkeyboy,

If PSU can't bring off a Rose Bowl bid, I might well run to the nearest butcher and throw myself on the chopping block.

Clark is looking dicey and it ain't just the concussion. He was shaky in the OSU game before the concussion even happened. He's had lapses all year, and he's no better taking care of the ball than he was at the beginning of the season. We felt it less back then because PSU was playing pussies, but he's been coughing it up fairly consistently.

The offensive line, which we thought was so great, turned out to be only average. Those great big holes that were opening up at the beginning of the season are no longer appearing. One might expect that against defenses like OSU and Iowa, but Indiana????

Yeah, you expect to see Royster break a long one at least once per game. Didn't happen against Indiana. In fact, the reverse happened, as Marcus Thigpen broke a 57-yarder against the vaunted PSU defense, as Gbdayu had his head straight up his proverbial butt.

I hold some hope for beating Moo U. for three reasons: 1) they don't have much of a defense if OSU can put 45 points on them, 2) the game is at Beaver Stadium, and 3) the rumor flying around that it might be JoePa's last game will serve to motivate the team and its coaches. Even if the rumor proves to be false, JoePa's surgery, which could potentially take place on Sunday, should motivate people. Although hip replacement surgery is almost a sure win, Joe is going on 82 and ya nevah know.

It scares me somewhat that the Nittany Lions could not manhandle Indiana and that once again the offense did not play well in the first half. One has to examine the coaching and the senior leadership when one sees consistently passionless performances. Why are these guys continually coming out flat?

You make a good point about Alabama and Texas Tech, but I think both will meet their waterloo in the coming couple of weeks. Alabama has to deal with Florida, which has been playing pretty damn good ball since dropping that game to Ole Miss. Texas Tech might lose to Oklahoma this week.

I'd like to see the Lions play USC, too, but unlike many people, I'm not put off by the possibility of Oregon State. The Beavers have improved significantly since PSU kicked their asses. The Rogers brothers are looking sharp. Yeah, I realize that there are prestige issues involved (beating USC is always an accomplishment, where is in some people's minds beating OSU again doesn't prove anything), but I'll take a Rose Bowl win no matter who is the opponent, even the Oregon Ducks. (I was there for that one.)

Hello Mr. Turkey,

I hope you are taking some extra precautions this time of year.
I certainly dont want to hear that you ended up on the wrong side of an electric carving knife.

Man it really seems like the Lions are limping badly to the finish line. I've noticed that they have not had any big time running plays the last couple of weeks. In fact no real big plays at all. This season it has been rare that Royster did'nt break off a long one, or a Williams return or something. Lets hope that they get their act together and take care of business against MSU. It aint gonna be easy.

Even though USC's pimp hand is strong and they will be bitch slappin' us up and down the field, it will be pretty damn cool playng them in the Rose Bowl. As improbable as it is, I hope that Alabama and Texas Tech go undefeated the rest of the way, so we can stop wondering what might have been.
