Goodbye, Bobby!

ESPN is reporting that venerable Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden will retire at the end of this season.

No speculation about which bowl Penn State will be going to and which opponent they will face. I’ll just harangue you with some diatribe about the BCS miasma and tell you what I’d like to see happen. No predictions, no decision trees, no attempted BCS mind-reading.

Goodbye, Charlie!

The storied head football coaching history of the University of Notre Dame is replete with names such as Knute and Ara. More recently, the names have come downto earth, with a Tyrone and a Charlie. Now, after yet another mediocre season, the New York Daily News reports that Charlie Weis is gone.
