Maurice Clarett, who is in perpetual trouble with the law, has exacerbated his woes. The former Ohio State freshman sensation and Fiesta Bowl hero, who left Ohio State after having run-ins with the law and who later sued the NFL to allow him to enter the draft before he turned 21, stupidly flipped a U-turn on an Interstate highway in front of some cops—with four loaded firearms in his vehicle. The cops used tack strips to stop him and they eventually had to subdue him with mace.
This is a crying shame. Satan must have grabbed Clarett by the buckeyes sometime after his freshman year and wrested him away from his chosen calling. If Clarett had stayed with the system and toed the line for three more years, he likely would have set himself up for a life of comfort and joy. He chose the dark side, but he wanted the NFL career, too. Alas, it was not to be. While he lost his court case with the NFL, when he became age-eligible he was actually drafted in the third round in 2005 by the Denver Broncos. He was subsequently cut.
