The Nittany Turkey

Primarily about Penn State football, this is a tale told by idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Bada Bing!

Posted on June 6, 2007 Written by The Nittany Turkey

So, the grand series finale of The Sopranos is about to happen and the dedicated viewing public awaits it with bated anticipation. The big question: Will Tony get whacked?

The great war, created over a long-standing dispute between Mafia family leaders Phil Leotardo and Tony Soprano and exacerbated by some recent machinations over asbestos removal racketeering and assorted inter-family violence, pits the Brooklyn family headed by Phil against the New Jersey family headed by our hero, Tony. Phil, having decided that the situation is completely untenable, has ordered a hit on Tony and his top lieutenants.

In last Sunday’s episode, Phil’s guys got to Tony’s brudder-in-lawr and to Tony’s right-hand man, Silvio. The brudder-in-lawr was slain in a hobby shop while buying a toy train. Sil (whose actor, Stephen Van Zandt has been known to play guitar with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as “Little Stevie”) got his in a car. He’s currently unconscious and not expected to recover. All dis has sent Tony and his remaining henchmen to da mattresses. They are hiding out until this thing is over.

PSU Backup FB Arrested for DUI

Posted on June 5, 2007 Written by The Nittany Turkey

Redshirt Nittany Lion junior fullback Dan Lawlor is in a heap o’ trouble, me mateys. The boy screwed up big time, getting his ass arrested for DUI. He blew a 0.126; Pennsylvania’s legal limit, like many other states, is 0.08. Lawlor turned 21 in January.

OK, so this one is cut-and-dried, a legal slam-dunk. But what’s Paterno going to do? My bet is on suspension, but as usual, that is pure Turkeyesque speculation. What should happen is that he gets his ass kicked off the team, if not completely out of Penn State. It’s one thing to be drunk in public on one’s feet, but quite another to operate a motor vehicle in that impaired state, endangering an innocent and unknowing public. (Just because in State College the pedestrians stand a good chance of being crocked, too, does not mean some moron should have carte blanche to run them down.) There are no extenuating circumstances in this case, only excuses and lame-ass ex post facto apologies.

When you’re facing serious charges like DUI, especially in a situation as clear-cut as this one, it’s crucial to seek expert defense. While the evidence might seem overwhelming, an experienced DUI attorney can help you navigate the legal complexities and potentially lessen the impact of a conviction. A Law Firm Ocala can provide skilled representation, ensuring your rights are protected and exploring every legal option available to you. From negotiating for reduced sentences to challenging certain aspects of the case, having the right legal defense can make a world of difference. Whether it’s securing a plea deal or fighting the charges, a knowledgeable DUI lawyer can help you minimize the consequences of a mistake.

Back in the ancient days of my matriculation at PSU, a kid was thrown out of school after admitting to shoplifting, a non-violent crime against property. DUI has more serious overtones involving lives, and should be treated accordingly.

One of the bright young stars among Big Ten football coaches, Terry Hoeppner of Indiana University, has been on medical leave for quite a while and might not be returning. ?????? ?????? ?????? He has had brain surgery twice in the past ten months to remove tumors.

Whodat Turkey?

The Nittany Turkey is a retired techno-geek who thinks he knows something about Penn State football and everything else in the world. If there's a topic, we have an opinion on it, and you know what "they" say about opinions! Most of what is posted here involves a heavy dose of hip-shooting conjecture, but unlike some other blogs, we don't represent it as fact. Read More…
