We’ve got spirit, and we know how to show it! We are Penn State!
And now, Mr Cynicism rears his ugly head. As I wrote this, I could find no mention of Penn State winning the Spirit Cup anywhere on ESPN.com. They’re the promoters of the competition. Don’t you think it would be there first? Apparently, ESPN was the entity that notified the PSU athletic department.
The athletic department announcement is available on the Penn State Athletics website.
So, thank you (I think), ESPN!

Well I think ESPN may be waiting to see who the check should be made payable to.
Since this is a sign of our ridiculous focus on the culture of football, Mr. Emmert is probably crafting an addenda to the consent decree saying that we now owe $60,010,000.00.
As expected, we will sign without delay. I think Emmert was probably given authorization by Erickson to use his signature whenever it was deemed appropriate by the NCAA.

I thought that Emmert gave Erickson signature permission on a per-case basis. Erickson and the BoT report directly to him.
