Rose Bowl Post Mortem

I think post mortem is a exceptionally apt term to use here, inasmuch as USC completely sucked the life blood out of the Nittany Lions in their 38-24 Rose Bowl (presented by Citi) victory. The Trojans essentially fired the fatal shots in a 24-point second quarter, but to its credit, this Penn State clung to life until the final gun.

A rose is a rose is a rose…

This is a helluva Rodney Dangerfield year for the Big Ten and the Nittany Lions. The Big Ten bowl teams are favored in but one of their matchups, that one being Iowa over South Carolina (although the visor chucking Steve Spurrier will do his best to confound the Hawkeye defense by playing each member of the Gamecock junior class at quarterback for one down, but I digress). I’m growing violently ill and quite weary of all the defensive machinations I’m reading. Why the hell do all these hacks write the same crap?

Roses and Lollipops

The Penn State Nittany Lions (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten) walked off the field Saturday with much more than the god-forsaken Land Grant Trophy. Having decimated the Michigan State Spartans (9-3, 6-2) by a score of 49-18, the Lions were awarded the Big Ten Conference Championship trophy and a whole shitload of roses. The win was Penn State’s 800th, a milestone only six collegiate programs have surpassed.
