Sandusky Defense Counsel Interview

Eric Macramalla, a Canadian attorney who comments on sports law through his radio show Offside: The Business & Law of Sports, interviewed Jerry Sandusky’s defense co-counsel Karl Rominger on Tuesday night. Among the revelations:

  • The appeal will wait until after Sandusky is sentenced (about 90 days) and it will be an uphill battle
  • Sandusky wishes he had testified
  • Rominger doesn’t feel that Sandusky is a suicide risk

What’s in a Name?

Poor Gerry Sandusky. He just happens to share a homonym of a name with a pariah. Gerry (not Jerry) is also in the sports business, being the sports director of a radio station and the voice of the Baltimore Ravens (boo!). Being a Steelers fan, we could jump on his case about the Ravens, since Suggs looks to be out for the year, Reed is getting old, and Zbikowsky is gone, so they’re going nowhere. But I digress. Gerry is unrelated to Jerry.

Since the Sandusky scandal emerged at Penn State, Gerry “I’m Not Jerry” Sandusky has been receiving a veritable plethora of misdirected tweets intended for Jerry “Pederast” Sandusky. While we don’t find anything funny about the whole Jerry Sandusky affair, we have to laugh at some of the vitriol his homonamesake erroneously incurred. View the madness on Gerry Sandusky’s blog.
