The Nittany Turkey

Primarily about Penn State football, this is a tale told by idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Tim Beckman (ATB) Gone!

Posted on August 28, 2015 Written by The Nittany Turkey

Recall that this turkey had posited in my season predictions that this would be Tim Beckman’s final year as head football coach at Illinois: “We all hope this will be Asshole Tim Beckman’s (ATB) last year…”.

We didn’t have to put up with him for another year. The University of Illinois fired Tim Beckman today.

My prayers have been prematurely answered. Thank you to the fine folks at University of Illinois and the football gods for this pre-Labor Day gift.

Beckman was accused by the administration of suppressing injury reports, endangering the welfare of student-athletes.

We all know what kind of dirty tricks this dickhead is capable of, man. I don’t think there will be any tears anywhere outside the Beckman household tonight. And, oh, by the way, it was so bad that Illinois isn’t going to pay Beckman the 3.1 million they might have owed him if he had just done a lousy job. But noooooooo, he had to show his true colors and now he’ll get what he deserves: bupkis.

Took me a while to figure out what the hell you were trying to say here, although I imagine that a true TV devotee would have gleaned immediately that you meant “Law & Order”, Season 15, Episode 16. I’ll have to assume it told the tale of a coach who abused his jocks, and I might someday, out of curiosity, see if I can find it.

Yes there is justice! Now the big question-does “The Zooker” get another chance?? They would have to lure him away from Green Bay of course, but in the screwed up world of Illinois football I guess anything is possible.

You gotta be kidding! Do you think the people of Illinois would allow Zook to return? I think one of my Facebook commenters got it right when he wrote:

Illinois needs to hire someone with some clout. The program has pretty much been a joke for 25+ years, maybe since I was there in 1970.

I hear Brady Hoke is looking for a job.
