Primarily about Penn State football, this is a tale told by idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

LJ Suspended by Chiefs

Posted on October 28, 2009 Written by The Nittany Turkey

Just to keep you up to date on the machinations of Larry Johnson versus the world, ESPN is reporting that the Chiefs have suspended him until November 9 for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

This will cost him about half a million bucks in lost pay. He’ll surely be pouting about that.

Many are speculating that Johnson has played his last game for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Read about it here.

Larry Johnson Told to Stay Away

Posted on October 27, 2009 Written by The Nittany Turkey

Former Nittany Lions star running back and current NFL perennial screw-up Larry Johnson is in deep shit yet again. I have spared you some of the stories about his recent arrests, but I couldn’t hold it back any longer.

This time, the chronic malcontent of the Kansas City Chiefs has been slandering people via Twitter from his cell phone.

He issued one of his typically unconvincing apologies today, but the team has told him to stay away from team activities, including practice, while the Chiefs are investigating the “alleged” comments. ?????????

The comments, posted on Sunday by Johnson after the Chiefs’ 37-7 loss to the Chargers, were directed toward Chiefs coach Todd Haley. According to Kent Babb of  The Kansas City Star, Johnson used “a gay slur” in one of his tweets while responding to a follower, and another “gay slur” Monday after telling reporters he wasn’t speaking publicly until Thursday.

So, I guess the translation is that he called his coach, his Twitter followers, and reporters all fags. ????? ???? ??????

The Victors

Posted on October 26, 2009 Written by The Nittany Turkey

For the first time in 13 years, the #13 Nittany Lions (7-1, 3-1 Big Ten) took care of business in da Big House, annihilating the perennial nemesis Michigan Wolverines (5-3, 1-3 Big Ten) 35-10.

Daryll Clark had the kind of day we all knew he could have, throwing four touchdown passes while going 16-27 for 230 yards. Three of the four touchdown passes went to Graham Zug, who also had a breakout day. Meanwhile, the ground game was clicking, although Stephfon Green did not make the trip due to “an ankle.” Evan Royster powered the ball forward 20 times for 100 yards.

For his effort in leading Penn State to the big win, Daryll Clark was awarded Big Ten Player of the Week honors. Aside from his individual performance on the field, Clark’s leadership was a key factor in this game.

Say what you will about Michigan and its 1-3 Big Ten record, but winning in Michigan Stadium has been a rare event in the annals of Nittany Lions history. Make no mistake: this win was big spiritually. It provided renewed hope for a big New Year’s Day payday. It was a helluva confidence builder. ????? ????

Whodat Turkey?

The Nittany Turkey is a retired techno-geek who thinks he knows something about Penn State football and everything else in the world. If there's a topic, we have an opinion on it, and you know what "they" say about opinions! Most of what is posted here involves a heavy dose of hip-shooting conjecture, but unlike some other blogs, we don't represent it as fact. Read More…
